WHAT IS MEDIATION?

Differences of opinion can cost money and relationship capital. They can also result in opportunities being lost or foregone.

Mediation is an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) process that can occur at any time there is a difference of opinion that results in either a dispute or a delay in developing new opportunities that require the agreement of others.

The mediator’s role is to act as a neutral third-party facilitator helping stakeholders at the table arrive at a mutually satisfactory agreement through a process of “principled negotiation”. Negotiations that are based on the underlying interests of the parties enable durable agreements where all parties get what they need.
